The purpose of the Courthouse Security is to substantially improve the level of security at the courthouse for the safety and welfare of our citizens, visitors and employees. Under the direction of the Senior Court Deputy, he and his staff of officers are responsible for the implementation of and adherence of the policy and notices posted.

 

Important Notices

  • All persons, packages, briefcases and containers may be subjected to a search for weapons by the Sheriff or Sheriff’s Deputy upon entry into this building.
  • All Employees and persons entering the Courthouse will go through Courthouse Security Screening upon entering.
  • Cell phone usage for talking is allowed in the hallways but not in the courtrooms and the photo function of the cell phone is not allowed to be used anywhere in the courthouse. If caught violating this rule the cell phone will be taken away. By Order Of The Sheriff

 

Proper Dress Required

When entering a courtroom, an appropriate dress code will be observed by all participants, including litigants, witnesses, jurors and spectators.
The following is NOT appropriate dress:
SHORTS; CUT-OFFS; TANK TOPS; HALTER TOPS; MESH SHIRTS; AND SHIRTS WITH INAPPROPRIATE OR OFFENSIVE LOGOS, PICTURES OR WRITING, HATS, VISORS, AND SUNGLASSES WILL NOT BE WORN IN THE COURTROOM.

If a Judge determines your attire is not appropriate and you are a participant, your case may be continued, or you may be asked to leave and return in proper attire.
